Technology

A department program that support adoption of relevant technologies in the work place to improve student learning, communication, and administration efficiency.     The division’s core responsibility is to mitigate technology needs of the department and the schools, to achieve two primary objectives that will improve the quality of services and programs provided.

 

The division comprises of a program coordinator and four staff, assisting the department central office and all the public schools in the state with the following services; planning, purchasing, upgrading of computer & other equipment; service & maintain the department network and related systems (fileservers, databases, system firewall, etc.); provides computer support & related trainings as needed; repair & maintain other facilities for the department (i.e. solar power systems, microwave antennas & supporting towers, VHF radio systems & antennas, etc..).

Plan and use ICT properly to ensure school are managed with cost & resource efficiency, to empower student learning and experience.

Promote the use of computer and other technologies as supplemental tools to improve student’s education and learning environment.

Maintain and manage the department’s information systems & network to improve communication, distance learning, and administration processes.
